Santana at The Palace of Auburn Hills - April 18, 2008On Friday April 18, 2008, Anne and I went to see Santana at the Palace of Auburn Hills. It was a great show starting with his guest band – the Derek Trucks band and proceeding with a very long set of 19 songs dating back to the early days of Santana through his current hits – many of which were collaborations with other musicians. His band included three percussionists, a brass section, a bass player a keyboardist, two vocalists and of course Carlos Santana on lead guitar. I was able to bring my Canon 40D camera and the 85mm lens. The concert venue doesn’t allow longer lenses. We were in the 21st row on the floor. We had excellent seats. Anne and I are huge fans of Santana – his music and his philosophy. Carlos Santana has a charity called “Milagro” which helps underprivileged and underrepresented children in art, education and health.
